The Journey

My name is Greg Snider. I'm married to my best friend and have two amazing children. I have always been passionate about learning new things which has lead to many hobbies over the years. Most of the things I enjoyed were very active, high energy activities such as skateboarding and wrestling. 

I never considered myself an artist because I couldn't draw well. In recent years I have had to learn graphic design with my job and I discovered that with a computer, you didn't have to draw well to make art. Before I knew it, I had found a new hobby.  I loved creating art on the computer.

I sustained some injuries which slowed down my physical activity and made room for me to pursue digital art. I began to develop my skill as I exercised creative muscles that I didn't know I had. This lead me into photography where I really began to come alive with new passion. 

I started with a lot of nature and landscape photography and branched out into street and urban photography. I think when I started doing night photography and long exposures around Detroit, I was completely hooked. One thing I really love about photography is that it's a hobby I can do with my kids. We often take hikes together and I will shoot as we go. Now I primarily do portrait and wedding photography but when I get time I love to hit a nature trail or get out at night for some long expos. I just enjoy taking photos whatever the subject is, which has brought me to noun photography: people. places. things.
